a souk that sells cheap clothing textile and how much is cheap here?
(ribbons, tulle, chifon cloth)
a shop that sells furnitures (even plastic) for baby's room.
Libyan words for castor oil, essential oils
location of a bookstore selling books in english and children's books
location of a shop selling dvds, the original ones.
a good beauty saloon- where the hairdressers know how to cut and color hair. and how much they charge.
have been to one around the neighborhood and discovered i could style/trim my own hair better than they do. i was charged 7 LD. and i was horrified to see a highlghted hair of one costumer...it looks like a kindergarten's art project. omg!
i need to know these. apparently the women in my family do not know where these places are.

Salam, for the books check al-Firjani bookstore. the old one is on first of September street. The second one is on Mizran street (if walking towards the green square it's on your right.)Castor oil is 'zayt al-khirwa'
Good luck in your search for the other stuff. I think that you could find children's furniture in the larger shops in Girgarish.
Umm Salwan
I just got a link to your blog and I found it interesting to read, I know my reply is too late and more likely you got what you looking for, but for your information regarding DVD's, there are no original copies of DVD's sold in Libya, but most of them are watchable and I found DVD's bought from a store in Al-Fatah Tower first floor are quite good quality copy imported from HK, but just make sure to check them that they are a corret and in working manner before leaving the shop.
